1 – POE 3.9 Storm Burst Trickster Build
INTRO:
In Path of Exile 3.9, This build is budget-friendly for league starter. I want to preface by first saying I hate squishy builds, and most self-cast builds are lessons in murder and death – often your own. But man, does self-cast Storm Burst kick ass. You can destroy the entire screen in seconds and melt bosses like few other skills with very little investment. It’s very fun, scales well, and is a great league starter, able to quickly get you to maps. Just be prepared you could die a few times.
PROS & CONS:
- Can run every map mod
- League Starter
- Fast Clear
- Entry gear is very cheap
- Great Damage
- Can Be a bit squishy
- not recommended for HC

2- POE 3.9 Orb of Storms Trickster Build
INTRO:
This build is very quick, fun and clear in POE 3.9. And this build that can clear ALL content (maps/shaper/lab/atziri/uber elder etc). It must be FUN and ENGAGING, not cost an extraordinary amount of currency, and have the ability to be a league starter with the ability to do all content later on as you upgrade and invest in your character. On top of this, it must have fast movement or move skills and not have to worry about any weird issues that ruin builds for me. In Path of Exile, Orb of Storms is quick and fun, but it doesn’t perform as well as the other builds while leveling when it comes to bosses, but the clear is fantastic, and it’s rock-solid for experienced players rushing to maps.
PROS & CONS:
- Very fun and engaging build to play
- Very fast pace build
- Great Aoe Clear and super fun playstyle
- Able to do all content
- Extremely high defensive capabilities
- Easy/Cheap to gear with room for lots of improvements as you get more currency
- Physical Reflect maps are best to be avoided
- Can be decently expensive to fully min/max yourself for end game gear especially for getting a shaped pyre ring

3 – POE 3.9 Caustic Arrow Trickster Build
INTRO:
This build is Caustic Arrow is fantastic (one of my favorites), but it’s very slow to level and has boss damage issues without good investment. This build is incredibly tanky, decent life pool, and has great damage and clear speed. This guide should be rather comprehensive, so if I left anything out, just ask in the comments. I also added some example calculations at the bottom if you want to calculate your own DPS.

- Cheap and easy to get going
- lots of evasions
- good for mapping
- Safe build
- Slow to start but builds up fast
- DoT Build
- can feel slow for mapping

4 – POE 3.9 Bane Trickster Build
INTRO:
This build has insane Defense, thanks to curses like Enfeeble or Temporal Chains and Energy Shield leech from Soulrend. Bane is fun, fast, and solid, but doesn’t boss nearly as well as the top builds in the list. Some players also prefer Bane with Essence Drain rather than Contagion. It’s also a great starter build because it doesn’t require expensive uniques to start dealing massive damage.
Bane is new gems, that are introduced in patch 3.6. In Path of Exile 3.9, Bane Trickster build is the best starter builds. They are both Chaos Damage over Time Gems, that synergize with each other very well. Bane skill not only applies DoT but also all linked the Curses on each cast, dealing much more damage for each Curse applied this way. On top of massive chaos damage.
In order to reach the maximum potential of this build, you need to cast Bane on packs of enemies to apply all the curses and then send projectiles that should kill whole packs in no time. For your movement, you are going to use Shield Charge and Quicksilver Flasks which combined with Trickster’s Ghost Dance will make you move through maps with lightning speed.
PROS & CONS:
- Excellent clear speed & movement speed due to high evasion rating and Queen of The Forest
- DoT builds are great at killing bosses due to the fact that they don’t have to attack constantly
- Can stack really high DPS
- Doesn’t take a lot of investment to get going and scales well into the endgame
- Can ignore physical and elemental reflect
- Great as a league starter build for Path of Exile: Legion
- Average single target damage (still good though)

5 – POE 3.9 Vortex Trickster Build
INTRO:
Vortex Trickster is solid for those who like the play style, and for the end-game, it’s one of the tankiest and most steady builds out there, capable of doing all content. Leveling to 28 with Stormblast mines is cake (and fun), and unlike Occultist, the Trickster variant can start using Vortex at 28. Vortex is also one of the best delvers in the game. It’s just a bit slow to ramp up, requires a switch to CI around level 70-75 and is a different play style from other builds. It’s also a bit squishy prior to CI due to the combination of life and ES (both around 1500 in SSF/league start before the transition to CI), but once you get Ghost Dance and Escape Artist, it has great survival and solid damage; and the cold slows everything down.
PROS & CONS:
- High Damage
- Pops Blight Monsters
- High Clear Speed
- Very tanky
- Much funnier than melee ‘attacks’ since this is like melee ‘spell’
- Can use herald effect, I go for the herald of ash
- Cannot do this map modes
- Hard time this map modes
- This is melee
